Meet the Milliner

Belinda Osborne is the Milliner behind the label that is Peacock Millinery. A second generation Milliner with an Interior Design background, Belinda loves to promote the art of millinery through her designs, conducting workshops, millinery and fashion events and guest speaking roles.

Born on Melbourne Cup Day, Belinda has always been captivated by the racing scene and the fashion that goes along with it. After creating her own headpiece for the races in 1999, at age 19, she fell in love with the idea of designing headwear and asked her mother, a former milliner for Myer and Miller Anderson in South Australia in the 1950's and 60's, to teach her about millinery.

Belinda has always contributed these early lessons in the fundamentals of millinery and pattern making, and her ability in understanding angles, shape and line, to making her the meticulous hatmaker she is today. Belinda prides herself on the personal service she offers clients and her commitment to promoting millinery and pushing the boundaries of headwear design.

Now days, Belinda's contemporary and elegant style of headwear is shipped from her Darwin N.T. based studio all over Australia to be seen at numerous race events and Fashions on the Field events across the country. Clients are welcome to place orders for bespoke pieces or purchase from the seasonal Ready-to-Wear collections released each year.
